JCI Southampton will be holding its annual AGM on Thursday 14 November for members to catch up, discuss development opportunities, review the year and plan next year’s activities and plan of action. We will be discussing the projects that we’ve run in 2019 and evaluate our 2020 plan of action. We will also elect the team that will create the 2020 Plan of Action

2020 Council Team – Roles available

We are looking for anyone interested in taking on a role on the council team for 2020, taking the lead on a project or supporting the team with one-off activities. The AGM is the opportunity for all members to come together and discuss how to shape the chamber and elect the team that will lead on the strategic decisions and represent all members on a local, national and international basis.

2020 will be a great year for Southampton with the celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower’s sailing. Joining the Council and getting involved in the running of a local chamber is one of the best ways to get the most of your JCI membership, developing new skills, taking on challenges, and networking with professionals and businesses across the city.

Roles available for 2020 are:

  • President
  • Deputy President
  • Finance Director
  • Community Director
  • Training Director
  • Marketing & Events Director
  • Membership & Growth Director

To discuss the roles and opportunities, get a role description or find out more about how to stand for a role visit the JCI Southampton website or contact our 2019 Local President Fee Francis at [email protected] or 2019 Deputy President Zoe Toseland at [email protected]

Project Opportunities

We are also looking for members to take on some projects or to join the support team and help with specific tasks essential in the running of the chamber – these roles can be discussed, created and reviewed throughout the year and do not need to be elected at AGM.

Project opportunities:

  • International Project Manager
  • ‘Mayflower’ Gala Weekend Project Manager
  • Social Media Manager
  • ‘Reduce Single-Use Week’ Project Manager
  • Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Project Manager
  • “Bring Your Own” Project Manager (BYOPM)

If you have any questions or can’t make the event, please let us know your thoughts and ideas by emailing [email protected]

Constitutionally, only paid members can stand for a role on a local JCI Council Team. If you would like to join JCI please email [email protected]

Public Speaking competition

We are looking for a member to represent us at JCI UK National Convention that will be taking place in Southampton this year (22-24 November 2019). A section of the AGM will be dedicated to the competition to elect which member will represent JCI Southampton at the national competition. If you are interested in developing your public speaking skills and practicing them in a safe and motivating environment, please do let us know by emailing [email protected] Topics available on demand.
