A successful & thoroughly entertaining European Conference was enjoyed by delegates from the UK in Budapest last month. Aside from the many personal development, networking & socialising opportunities, JCI UK managed to put some time aside for a spot of ‘Achieving by Doing’.
JCI UK entered two teams in the European Debating competition and BOTH teams made it to the Tri-partite Final against JCI Ireland. This was an amazing and impressive achievement for both teams, even if we in the UK must forgive JCI Ireland for taking the award home. Next time…..
Resh Patel from JCI London represented JCI UK in the European Public Speaking competition. Despite an excellent performance, Resh unfortunately did not succeed in making it to the final. Congratulations to Resh for stepping up & representing the UK – no mean achievement! The final was won by Line Jackson Ręstad from JCI Norway who, incidentally, will be joining JCI London later this year.
Andrew Best, husband of JCI UK National President Charlie Best, succeeded in his epic cycling journey from Doncaster UK to Budapest in 1.5 weeks. This wasn’t completed just for fun, but was to raise money for JCI’s ‘Nothing But Nets’ campaign.
You can still sponsor Andrew and this great cause by making a small donation at the following website:
