JCI Southampton chooses children's charity for 2009

Date: Sunday 26th April, 2009

JCI Southampton is delighted to confirm that this year’s chosen charity is Honeypot. Members will be fundraising for Honeypot throughout the year, so keep an eye out for planned charity events in our Web site diary section.

JCI Southampton Community Director, Chris Moseley, commented, ‘It is always tremendously difficult to pick one good cause over another but I am looking forward to JCI Southampton working with Honeypot to help raise money and profile for this fantastic local children’s charity.’

About The Honeypot Charity

A chance for children to have a better childhood

Set up in 1996, Honeypot exists to enhance the lives of young carers and children at risk, supporting their social development through respite care and a programme of long term support.

For these children, going on a trip to the cinema is a rarity, a holiday is unknown, and for the 70% of Honeypot children who are Young Carers, they are needed at home 24/7, 365 days of the year. All these children are in need of structured support and a well-deserved break to give them the childhood they deserve and that’s where Honeypot comes in. When you’re at Honeypot House and with the Honeypot team, you’ve got friends your own age around you, and permission to play…!
